Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method. A mathematical formula used to set revised targets in rain-interrupted matches, recalculating the chasing team's required score based on overs and wickets remaining.

Runs scored divided by overs bowled, shown as a decimal. A run rate of 7.5 means the batting side averages 7.5 runs per completed over across their innings so far.

Net Run Rate. A tiebreaker figure in group-stage tables calculated from total runs scored minus total runs conceded, divided across all overs faced and bowled in the tournament.

A mandatory fielding restriction phase, usually the first six overs, where only two fielders may stand outside the inner circle. Run rates tend to be higher during powerplay overs.

The runs per over the batting side must score from the current ball onwards to win. It updates after every delivery and rises sharply if wickets fall or overs are lost.

An over in which the bowler concedes zero runs from the bat. Shown as M in the bowling figures. A high maiden count usually signals tight line-and-length bowling in the session.
